Gimhae-si Holds Kick-off Meeting for 2020 Smart City Challenge Project
Conducted via Non-Face-to-Face Video Conference
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 16th that it held a kickoff meeting for the '2020 Smart City Challenge Project' in the meeting room of the Happy Civil Service Building 365 Safety Center.
This project was selected in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's public contest last May and will be actively promoted this year with a total project cost of 1.85 billion KRW.
The Smart City Challenge is a project that develops comprehensive solutions to solve problems throughout the city by utilizing innovative ideas held by private sectors such as companies and applies them throughout the city.
The city plans to build a corporate support smart solution targeting the Golden Route Industrial Complex from this month until February next year and establish a smart industrial complex business model that leads innovative growth through service verification.
The main project contents include the construction and verification of five services: ▲Smart logistics (sharing idle logistics warehouses and delivery vehicles between companies) ▲Demand-based mobility (improving commuting convenience for workers) ▲Smart healthcare (supporting worker health management) ▲Smart work (supporting work systems) ▲Corporate support platform (cloud-based integrated sharing of corporate information). Based on this, a master plan for the main project next year will be established.
In March next year, through a follow-up evaluation by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the city will be given another opportunity to challenge the main project contest for solution expansion. If selected, the main project will be promoted with a total of 20 billion KRW invested over two years, including 10 billion KRW in national funds and 10 billion KRW in local funds.
The reporting meeting was held in a non-face-to-face video conference format with a total of 13 participants, including representatives of private participating companies and universities performing each project and officials from Gyeongnam Technopark who provide project consultation.
