COVID-19 New Cases 106 Yesterday... Domestic Cases in Double Digits for Third Consecutive Day (Update)

There were 91 domestic community transmission cases, marking double digits for the third consecutive day. Fifteen cases are suspected to be imported from overseas.
According to the COVID-19 domestic occurrence data announced by the Central Disease Control Headquarters as of midnight on the same day, 106 new cases were confirmed, bringing the total cumulative domestic cases to 22,391. The daily new confirmed cases have remained in the triple digits for over a month since the outbreak spread mainly around churches in the metropolitan area was confirmed on the 14th of last month. However, considering only domestic cases, the number has been in double digits for three consecutive days since the 13th.
Among the new confirmed cases, 80 were reported in the metropolitan area including Seoul. Four new cases were confirmed in Busan, three each in Daejeon, Jeju, and Chungnam. Two new cases each were reported in Chungbuk and Gyeongnam, and one new case each in Gwangju, Gangwon, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk. Among the imported cases, five were detected during quarantine, while the remaining ten were identified in the local community. Eight are Korean nationals, and seven are foreigners.
Four deaths were reported the previous day, increasing the total death toll to 367. The number of critically and severely ill patients rose by one from the previous day to 158. Among existing patients, 389 were released from isolation, leaving 3,146 patients currently under isolation and treatment.
