NHN Launches Initiative to Build a 'Korean-style AI Manufacturing Platform'
Promoted in a total of 3 stages until the second half of 2022
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] NHN announced on the 15th that it will participate in building the world's first public-private partnership "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Manufacturing Platform (KAMP)" led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
On the 9th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups selected the "NHN-KT Consortium" as the private cloud operator for building the AI manufacturing platform and announced the official start of the project.
KAMP will be built as an innovative manufacturing-specialized platform in collaboration with manufacturing AI experts based on cloud data operation infrastructure. The goal is to spread smart factories and achieve manufacturing innovation, with plans to proceed in three phases by the second half of 2022.
The first phase is the manufacturing platform infrastructure construction stage, where on-site focused preliminary consulting is conducted to select customized manufacturing solutions. Together with specialized suppliers in the manufacturing sector, solutions will be applied and verified to establish a foundation for utilizing manufacturing data such as AI standard models.
In the second phase, when the spread of cloud-based AI smart factories centered on KAMP is in full swing, a solution store will be built and operated where solutions necessary for manufacturing innovation can be purchased. Manufacturing companies will be able to directly search for desired solutions, purchase customized solutions, or develop their own solutions.

Finally, a data distribution channel will be established to enable direct trading of high-quality manufacturing data created through KAMP between companies, activating the My Manufacturing Data market. To facilitate trading, an AI-based manufacturing data recommendation service will be applied, prioritizing convenience. Baek Do-min, NHN CIO, said, "KAMP will be the world's first AI SME manufacturing platform supporting AI smart factory implementation based on private cloud."
