[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City will operate the 'Busan Smart City 3D Virtual Exhibition Hall' at the '2020 China International Smart Industry Expo (Smart China Expo Online 2020)' held in Chongqing, China from the 15th to the 17th. The event will be conducted entirely online.
The China International Smart Industry Expo is a global expo where over 300 global IT companies and sister cities operate 551 virtual exhibition halls.
This year, under the theme 'Smart City: Enabling the Economy and Enhancing Life,' the expo consists of exhibitions of new products and technologies in smart products, smart manufacturing, and smart city sectors, as well as innovation forums for the smart industry. The opening ceremony will be live-streamed worldwide on the internet on the 15th.
Busan City is participating to mark the 10th anniversary of the sister city agreement with Chongqing, the largest automobile and information technology (IT) cluster in central-western China, which is also developing as an advanced industrial city including the robotics industry. The participation is realized by providing a virtual exhibition space to develop exchange and cooperation in the smart city sector.
At the Busan Smart City virtual exhibition hall, visitors can see information about Busan’s smart city initiatives, including the world’s first ‘Busan Eco Delta Smart City National Pilot City,’ which intensively implements smart innovative technologies on a blank site; ‘Smart Transportation,’ which realizes barrier-free transportation through smart technology; the disaster situation room ‘Smart Big Board,’ which analyzes and responds to all disaster information in Busan at a glance; and ‘Innovative Growth Technologies of Blockchain.’ One-on-one online consultations will also be held during the event period.
Byun Sung-wan, Acting Mayor of Busan, said, “Since 2010, Busan has maintained a sister city relationship with Chongqing and has engaged in active exchange activities in various fields such as economy, culture, and tourism.”
He added, “We expect this to be an opportunity to network and promote Busan’s smart city policies and excellent technologies not only to the Chinese market but also to the global market.”
