According to foreign media including CNN on the 14th, Ambassador Branstad is expected to leave Beijing, China ahead of the U.S. presidential election this November.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed gratitude on his Twitter account, saying, "I thank Ambassador Branstad for serving the American people as the U.S. Ambassador to China for over three years."
