The Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office summoned attorney Kim Jae-ryeon, the legal representative of the victim who filed a sexual harassment complaint against former Mayor Park, as a witness and is currently questioning her from 2 p.m. on the 14th.
Previously, Attorney Kim stated at a press conference that she had called the head of the Women and Children Crime Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office the day before filing the complaint to disclose the plan to file the accusation and requested a meeting.
At that time, the meeting between the two parties did not take place, and the next day, the victim filed the complaint against the late former Mayor Park with the police, not the prosecution. After suspicions arose that information about the accusation had been leaked, allegations surfaced that the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, which was aware of the accusation before the police complaint, might have leaked the information. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office denied these allegations, stating that they neither reported the matter related to the accusation to higher authorities such as the Supreme Prosecutors' Office nor disclosed it externally.
Furthermore, Attorney Kim recently claimed in an interview with a media outlet that the victim was sexually assaulted by a Seoul City Secretariat employee in April and filed a complaint on the same day, but the Seoul City did not properly respond, only transferring the perpetrator without dismissing him from his position.

On the 2nd, the prosecution also summoned Hong Jeong-sik, head of the civic group Halbindan, and Lee Jong-bae, head of the Action Alliance for Establishing the Rule of Law (Beopse-ryeon), as complainants for questioning. Earlier in July, Halbindan and the Lawyers for Human Rights and Unification of Korea reported three officials of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, including Chief Prosecutor Lee Seong-yoon, to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office for leaking official secrets. Beopse-ryeon also reported officials from the Blue House and the police to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in the same month on charges of leaking official secrets. Five complaints, including this case, were initially assigned to the Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office but were later transferred to the Northern District Prosecutors' Office.
