France Reports 10,000 New COVID-19 Cases

The French Ministry of Health announced on the 12th (local time) that the number of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 increased by 10,561 from the previous day, totaling 373,911. The cumulative death toll rose by 17 to 30,910.
France is conducting widespread COVID-19 testing on more than one million people per week. The positivity rate over the past seven days is 5.4%.
Prime Minister Jean Castex announced measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on the 11th. He urged compliance with hand washing, mask wearing, and social distancing, emphasizing that active COVID-19 testing is necessary to break the chain of transmission.

Additionally, the system was improved to allow quicker COVID-19 testing for those showing symptoms or who have been in contact with confirmed cases, and the self-quarantine period after contact with confirmed cases was reduced from 14 days to 7 days.
