‘Sancheong Chestnuts’ are produced by about 2,000 farms with an annual production of approximately 2,500 tons. Although production is expected to decrease somewhat due to unprecedented adverse weather this year, the expected purchase volume is about 1,650 tons, similar to previous years.
All purchased ‘Sancheong Chestnuts’ are washed and jointly sorted by the Sancheong-gun Nonghyup, ensuring excellent quality. For this reason, they are exported annually to countries such as China.
‘Sancheong Chestnuts,’ produced in the clean area of Jirisan, have hard shells, a glossy appearance, and excellent taste.
In particular, they are rich in five major nutrients including protein, fat, and sugars, making them very popular.
