Former Reporter Kim Yeryeong, Controversial for Questioning Attitude Toward Moon, Appointed as People Power Party Spokesperson
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former Gyeonggi Broadcasting reporter Kim Ye-ryeong, who sparked controversy over her questioning attitude at President Moon Jae-in's New Year's press conference last year, has been appointed as the spokesperson for the People Power Party.
According to the People Power Party on the 10th, the Emergency Response Committee approved the appointment of former reporter Kim as spokesperson on the same day.
At the New Year's press conference in January last year, former reporter Kim asked President Moon Jae-in, "The real economy is severely frozen," and inquired directly, "What is the reason and confidence behind the President's decision not to change or shift the current policy direction, and what is the basis for it?"
Previously, former reporter Kim applied for nomination to the Future Korea Party, a satellite party for proportional representation of the United Future Party, in the April 15 general election but did not receive a ranking. Afterwards, she was listed as a spokesperson for the United Future Party's Central Election Countermeasures Committee.
