Naver and Yonsei University Join Hands for AI Education and Industry-Academia Cooperation Project

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver has joined hands with Yonsei University for an artificial intelligence (AI) education and industry-academia cooperation project.
On the 10th, Naver announced that it held an online agreement ceremony titled 'Naver Clova AI - Yonsei University Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering IT Technology Innovation and Management Lecture Education Business' to collaborate on AI-related education and industry-academia programs together with Yonsei University.
Naver and Yonsei University have agreed to jointly develop and operate AI-related undergraduate and graduate education curricula. They also plan to continue cooperation by sharing research in AI and internet fields and co-hosting symposiums.
Naver will actively participate in designing Yonsei University's education and research programs to ensure that vivid experiences and know-how from AI researchers working in the field are conveyed in the educational environment. Various projects utilizing Naver Clova-based businesses, services, and data will also be conducted.
Yonsei University will design and operate courses for the AI software, hardware, and internet undergraduate and graduate programs to ensure these contents are well delivered to students. In the fall semester, Naver Clova and Yonsei University's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will jointly open and operate a regular graduate course titled 'IT Technology Innovation and Management Lecture.' The course will feature Jeong Seok-geun, CEO of Naver Clova CIC, and AI researchers from the field as instructors, delivering AI research topics such as machine learning and computer vision, along with cases applying these technologies to actual services.

CEO Jeong said, "We will spare no support to ensure that prospective AI talents, who will be responsible for the future AI ecosystem, receive vivid and in-depth knowledge and know-how from the research field." Kim Seong-ryun, head of Yonsei University's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, stated, "Starting with Naver's participation in graduate education in electrical and electronic engineering, we hope that personnel exchanges and joint research between the two institutions in the AI field will be actively conducted."
