Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Holds Special Exhibition with Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation to Help Agricultural and Industrial Enterprises
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang has stepped up to support small business owners and local farmers who have lost sales channels and are struggling due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). On the 10th, Coupang announced that it is collaborating with the Small Business Hope Foundation and the Seoul Metropolitan Government to assist small business owners and traditional market merchants who are not familiar with online sales in entering the online market and increasing their sales.
Coupang plans to guide small business owners on how to join the platform and actively share know-how and successful methods for operating online shopping to help them seize more sales opportunities. Additionally, Coupang will support marketing and advertising activities worth approximately 70 million KRW to help small business owners meet more customers and sell products through Coupang. Small business owners who wish to participate can apply through the Hope Foundation's website by the 21st.
To assist local farmers struggling due to COVID-19, Coupang is also supporting special exhibitions to promote excellent small and medium food companies that actively use domestic agricultural products. Coupang is conducting the 'Chandeulmaru Special Exhibition' in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation to sell outstanding agricultural and industrial products. Agricultural and industrial companies refer to small and medium enterprises that develop and sell high value-added products together with farmers. The 'Chandeulmaru Special Exhibition,' running until December 31, features over 300 excellent products from 145 agricultural and industrial companies nationwide in one place.

A Coupang official said, "We hope this will help small business owners and local farmers who are facing difficulties due to COVID-19, heavy rains, and typhoons. We will do our best to be a support for small business owners going through great hardships," adding, "We will actively support small enterprises to help them overcome difficulties through Coupang."
