Selection of 40 Part-Time Workers Among University Students on Leave Living in Yeongdeungpo-gu
Online Recruitment from September 14... Opportunity to Learn District Office Work from October 12 to November 6 with Monthly Payment of 1.17 Million Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is recruiting "Leave-of-absence Student Part-time Workers" to provide students on leave, who are facing financial difficulties due to the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, with opportunities to earn tuition fees and gain experience in public service and social life.
The district actively reflects the majors and preferences of the selected university students as part-time workers to provide them with their desired departments and work environments as much as possible, helping participating students explore career paths and strengthen their work capabilities.
The part-time work will be conducted for about one month from October 12 to November 6.
Any university student on leave registered as a resident of Yeongdeungpo-gu as of the recruitment date (September 14) can apply. However, currently enrolled university students, students of broadcast communication or cyber universities, prospective graduates, and graduate students are excluded.
A total of 40 leave-of-absence students will be recruited. Selected students will work five days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., five hours per day. Working hours and days may be flexibly changed depending on the assigned department.
Among the recruits, 8 socially considerate candidates who are recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, lower-income class, medical aid recipients, registered disabled persons (self), or from families with three or more children will be given priority selection. Additionally, 10 extra candidates will be selected beyond the recruitment quota to fill vacancies caused by unregistered or withdrawn applicants according to the reserve selection order.
The selected students will be assigned to the district office, community service centers, and related affiliated institutions during the work period, undertaking various tasks such as ▲administrative work assistance ▲field surveys ▲civil complaint guidance ▲COVID-19 related support work, allowing them to understand the flow of district administration, acquire individual work skills, gain public service experience, and build confidence for employment.
The wage is 48,950 KRW per day including lunch expenses, and if the full working days are completed, the monthly salary including weekly holiday allowance will be 1,174,800 KRW.
Applications can be submitted from September 14 to 18 through the integrated reservation category on the Yeongdeungpo-gu website. The final candidates will be selected by a public computerized lottery on September 22. Those wishing to observe the lottery can check the option when applying.
The selection results will be announced on September 23 on the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website and individual notifications will be sent to the selected students.
