Gokseong Gallery 107 Hosts Kim Malrae's Natural Dyeing Solo Exhibition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] From the 10th to the 16th of this month, a solo exhibition of natural dyeing by artist Kim Mallye will be held at Gallery 107 and Street Gallery in Gokseong-gun, Jeonnam.
Artist Kim graduated from the Department of Korean Costume Science at Wonkwang Digital University and has been actively working on indigo dyeing artworks to this day. This exhibition will showcase about 30 pieces centered on the blue color of indigo dyeing.
According to artist Kim, the natural dyeing process involves half physical labor, repeatedly encountering limits and experiencing disappointment, and being fascinated by the clear blue light emerging from indigo. She crazily applies plants and creates each piece as if painting mountains with immersion dyeing.
Perhaps because of this, her works convey the joys and sorrows of life.

Gallery 107 in Gokseong-gun is located at 107-1 Jungang-ro, Gokseong-eup. It operates free of charge year-round, and visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
