View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Low-cost carriers (LCCs) are organizing additional flights and offering discounted airfares for passengers traveling home and returning during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
Jeju Air announced on the 8th that it will operate temporary flights on the Busan~Gwangju route for two days, September 30 and October 4, to accommodate Chuseok holiday travelers. This marks the first operation on the Busan~Gwangju route in about 20 years since 2001.
Jeju Air plans a total of four flights with two round trips on the specified days, with a flight time of 50 minutes. Tickets are available only through Jeju Air’s website and mobile web/app, with fares starting at 90,000 KRW for a one-way all-inclusive fare.
Air Busan is selling discounted tickets for passengers returning home and returning from their trips. The boarding period is from the 25th of this month to the 4th of next month, and the available routes are Gimpo~Busan and Gimpo~Ulsan. The return home (Busan·Ulsan~Gimpo) travel dates are from the 28th of this month to the 11th of next month, and the return trip dates are from the 1st to the 4th of next month.
For flights corresponding to return home and return trips, fares are discounted by up to 93%, with one-way all-inclusive fares starting from 9,900 KRW per person. Return home discounted tickets will be sold from 11 a.m. on the day via Air Busan’s website and mobile web/app.

Considering the possibility of travel restrictions during Chuseok due to social distancing measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Air Busan is also running a free itinerary change fee event exclusively for the Gimpo~Busan and Gimpo~Ulsan routes. If tickets are booked between the day of the announcement and October 7, itinerary changes can be made without any limit on the number of changes and without fees during the applicable period. Even if the boarding date is after October, no change fees will be charged if the ticket was issued during the event period.
