Hyundai Heavy Industries Reports 3 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at Hyundai Heavy Industries has increased to three.
On the 8th, Hyundai Heavy Industries announced that two additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed within the company. Previously, on the 7th, one worker was diagnosed as positive. The new confirmed cases are close contacts who worked in the same area as the first confirmed case.
The company reportedly instructed about 300 other employees in the affected department to stay home. Earlier, the health authorities and the company took quarantine measures for the department when the first case was detected and closed the areas visited by the confirmed individual.
Hyundai Heavy Industries has been implementing preventive measures against COVID-19 infection, including mandatory mask-wearing for all employees, staggered working hours, bans on company dinners and business trips, and mandatory temperature checks for all staff.

Han Young-seok, CEO of Hyundai Heavy Industries, issued a statement on the day, saying, "We will concentrate all resources to block further infections," and emphasized, "Do not be unsettled and please do your best to prevent the spread from your respective positions."
