Ministry of Legislation Reports '2020 Regular National Assembly Legislative Promotion Measures' at Cabinet Meeting

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Government Legislation announced that it will concentrate intergovernmental legislative capabilities to promptly pass government-proposed bills, including the "Restriction of Special Taxation Act," during the regular National Assembly session.
The Ministry of Government Legislation prepared the "2020 Regular National Assembly Legislative Promotion Measures" and reported it at the Cabinet meeting on the 8th.
In preparation for the first regular session of the 21st National Assembly, it comprehensively reviewed the legislative promotion status so far and devised measures to smoothly promote key bills.
As of the 4th, a total of 410 government-proposed bills are being promoted this year. Among them, 201 bills have been submitted to the National Assembly, and the remaining 209 bills are scheduled to be submitted after going through the legislative procedures within the government.
The Ministry of Government Legislation explained that this regular National Assembly session is a very important period to support the top national tasks of "overcoming the national crisis" and "economic revitalization" through legislation, as it marks the second half of the Moon Jae-in administration.
Key bills related to economic revitalization and livelihood issues include the "Restriction of Special Taxation Act," the "Act on Support for Smart Manufacturing Innovation of Small and Medium Enterprises," the "Employment Insurance Act," and the "Basic Administrative Act."
The government plans to pool legislative capabilities to smoothly process these bills during the regular National Assembly session.
