Jeju Coast Guard's Special Crackdown on Safety Violations of Fishing Boats in Autumn
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Jeong-pil] Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief Go Min-gwan) announced that with the upcoming peak season for sea fishing in autumn and the expected increase in fishing boat users, they will conduct a special crackdown on fishing boat safety violations from September 7 to September 30, carrying out surprise safety inspections for about a month.
Jeju Maritime Police anticipate that the cooler temperatures in autumn will lead to more outdoor activities and an increase in demand for fishing boats. Therefore, proactive special safety management is necessary.
This autumn's special crackdown on fishing boats will focus on promoting and educating fishing boat operators and users until September 13 to build a consensus on marine safety culture. From the 14th to the 30th, over 16 days, the focus will be on strictly cracking down on the five major safety violations related to fishing boats.
