Budget Savings of 2.8 Billion KRW by Using Recycled Aggregate Products
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 7th that its Waterworks Office received the Prime Minister's Award, the highest institution award, at the "11th Circular Aggregate and Recycled Products Excellent Utilization Case Contest" hosted by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport designate September 6th every year as Resource Circulation Day to promote eco-friendly treatment of construction waste and resource recycling, and hold a contest for excellent utilization cases of circular aggregates targeting public institutions and the private sector.
Changwon City Waterworks Office was selected as the best institution in recognition of its contribution to eco-friendly resource circulation by using 100,000㎥ of recycled circular aggregate products in 37 waterworks projects, including the installation of the Sahwa Reservoir from 2017 to 2019, saving a budget of 2.8 billion KRW.

Changwon City Waterworks Office was selected as an excellent institution for rapid execution by the Ministry of Environment last year and received a performance reward of 320 million KRW in local tax grants. It was also selected in the local waterworks management efficiency project contest and received a special local tax grant of 360 million KRW, being recognized as an advanced waterworks administrative institution.
