K-eco Hosts Youth Startup Discovery Contest... Provides Startup Funding and Technical Consulting
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Environment Corporation announced on the 7th that it will hold the 'Youth Startup Discovery Competition in the Environmental Field' to discover new businesses in the environmental sector and create green jobs.
This competition was prepared to realize social value by discovering and supporting startup ideas in the environmental field that can be commercialized, thereby expanding the base of youth startups.
In particular, the startup support funds add significance to the competition by utilizing the social contribution activity fund 'Cheonmimanmi,' which the Environment Corporation is establishing to spread a culture of sharing and contribute to local communities.
The recruitment areas cover all environmental fields, including climate and atmosphere, water environment, soil environment, resource circulation, environmental safety, and environmental big data, and applications are accepted via email until the 20th of next month. Eligible applicants are youths aged 19 to 34 who reside in Incheon or attend university or work in Incheon.
The Environment Corporation plans to select a total of three teams in November through a comprehensive evaluation of the submitted ideas based on environmental contribution, feasibility and economic viability of the business plan, and contribution to social value. Winners will receive a total of 10 million KRW in startup support funds and active support for the use of demonstration facilities operated by the corporation.
Through the 'In-house Venture Startup Incubation Program' operated by the corporation since last year, environmental technology consulting by internal experts and startup education and consulting by external experts will also be provided.
In addition, in collaboration with the Incheon Social Economy Support Center, startup spaces such as Jemulpo Smart Town and Geomdan Knowledge Industry Center will be provided to winners for up to two years.
If startup companies wish to transition to social enterprises, the corporation plans to promote the activation of social economy entry for environmental startups by linking with social enterprise discovery and nurturing processes.
