Publication of English Booklet Featuring 98 Promising Korean SMEs
Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Related Organizations Collaborate
to Discover Promising Companies in Quarantine and Non-Face-to-Face Sectors
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 6th that it will publish an English booklet introducing promising SMEs and startups in the post-COVID-19 era in cooperation with related SME organizations.
The name of this English booklet is "Grand Shift to the Post-COVID-19 World." In April and May, inquiries were made to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups from countries such as Colombia and Iran regarding Korean companies related to quarantine and diagnostic kits. To systematically respond to foreign demand, the ministry decided to discover promising companies in each field to introduce abroad.
Various organizations such as the Small and Medium Business Corporation, the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs, and the Korea Association of Technology Innovation for SMEs recommended promising companies. Among companies participating in support projects by each organization, considerations were made based on technological capability, product competitiveness, and potential for overseas expansion. A total of 98 companies in fields such as quarantine, non-face-to-face (untact), and artificial intelligence (AI), which agreed to provide English information, were included.
The booklet contains information by field and company, including major products, features, company overview, overseas certifications, awards, and other key achievements, as well as contact information. QR codes for each company were inserted to link to English websites or promotional videos, enabling interested overseas buyers to obtain detailed information.
Additionally, the booklet promotes Korea's representative "BrandK" and introduces overseas expansion hubs under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, such as export incubators and Korea Startup Centers, enhancing its usability.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to register the booklet on English websites and overseas technology exchange platforms operated by the Small and Medium Business Corporation for continuous access in cooperation with related organizations. It will be distributed to foreign embassies in Korea, foreign governments, institutions, or chambers of commerce to support non-face-to-face exchanges such as video consultations or investment attraction briefings with interested companies or institutions.
When sending the booklet to foreign governments, masks from BrandK-selected companies will be included to participate in local efforts to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and to promote the excellence of Korean products.
