Gangnam-gu and POSCO Conduct 'Annyeong NO COOK BAG' Sharing Campaign
POSCO and Local Companies, Gangnam-gu Volunteer Center Support 2,000 Vulnerable Households with Instant Foods and Canned Goods
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) is currently conducting a sharing activity called ‘Annyeong NO COOK BAG,’ distributing non-cooked food kits to vulnerable groups who cannot use free meal services due to the recent social distancing ‘Level 2.5’ welfare facility closures.
‘Annyeong NO COOK BAG’ is produced with the participation of local companies, the Gangnam-gu Volunteer Center, and local residents. The eco-bag contains 10 types of convenience foods such as instant meals and canned goods. It targets elderly living alone, households with disabled members, and is delivered contactlessly to their homes.
The district plans to keep ‘Annyeong NO COOK BAG’ available year-round at 22 community service centers within the district until the end of this year, supporting 2,000 vulnerable households struggling to secure meals.
In May, the district delivered ‘Annyeong NO COOK BAG’ to 450 vulnerable households in the area with the help of employees from POSCO, SK, and Lotte Fine Chemical.
Furthermore, on the 26th of last month, employees of the Electrical Contractors Mutual Aid Association provided emergency support to 300 households whose meal services were suspended due to the resurgence of COVID-19.
