View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City announced on the 4th that it held an emergency situation assessment meeting chaired by Vice Mayor Kim Sinnam in preparation for the landfall of Typhoon No. 10, ‘Haishen’.
The super typhoon ‘Haishen’ is growing in size and moving northward toward the Korean Peninsula, and it is predicted to approach our region on the morning of the 7th.
Accordingly, Vice Mayor Kim Sinnam urgently held a situation assessment meeting with 13 disaster management departments (including the Maritime and Port Division, Fisheries Promotion Division, Agricultural Policy Division), as well as related organizations such as the Mokpo Meteorological Office and Mokpo Fire Station.
Vice Mayor Kim Sinnam instructed, “Since this typhoon is expected to pass through the Korean Peninsula, thorough preparations are necessary, including securing signboards against strong winds and waves, mooring, lifting, and evacuating vessels.”
The city is conducting safety inspections of road facilities, embankments, and landslide prevention measures, maintaining drainage environments, and checking drainage pump stations to prepare for flooding in low-lying coastal areas. At the same time, it is closely monitoring the typhoon’s path and making every effort to prepare.
