Xi Jinping: "Socialism Belittlement Will Not Be Tolerated"
Attended the 75th Anniversary Symposium of China's Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan, Warning Against Attempts to Separate China
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that he will not tolerate any acts that belittle or distort the Chinese Communist Party and socialism.
Analysts interpret this as a declaration of his determination never to yield to the recent overt pressure from the United States, which has downgraded President Xi from state president to Communist Party General Secretary in an attempt to provoke a regime change.
According to the state-run People's Daily on the 4th, President Xi said at the "75th Anniversary Symposium of China's Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing the previous day, "If anyone or any force distorts or belittles the history of the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese people will never tolerate it."
He continued, "If any force distorts the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics or denies the achievements of the Chinese people in building socialism, the Chinese people will never tolerate it," strongly warning against attempts to separate and oppose the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people.
He emphasized, "If any force tries to impose their will on China through hegemony and change China's future path, the Chinese people will never allow it."
He also said, "If anyone destroys the development rights of the Chinese people, obstructs exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries' peoples, and damages peace and development for humanity, the Chinese people will not tolerate it."
Furthermore, he paid tribute to "the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation at home and abroad who contributed to the victory in the Chinese War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression," adding, "We express our condolences to all the heroic spirits who died gloriously in this war and to the martyrs who were sacrificed by the invaders."
