Justice Party "Medical Publicness Lost to Selfish Collective Behavior"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The Justice Party described the agreement between the government, the ruling party, and the Korea Medical Association as "fortunate," but also expressed "deep regret that medical publicness was sacrificed due to selfish collective actions."
Kim Jong-chul, senior spokesperson for the Justice Party, stated in a briefing on the 4th, "Doctors who had engaged in collective refusal of medical treatment have returned to the field. It is fortunate that the public, who were anxious during the rapid spread phase of COVID-19, can feel somewhat reassured."
However, he criticized the decision to reconsider the issues of the public medical school and increasing medical school admissions from scratch. Spokesperson Kim said, "A crucial national agenda related to the lives and health of the people was abandoned in the face of doctors' selfish collective actions. This is very regrettable."
He continued, "Discussions to secure medical publicness must be expedited. Additionally, discussions on how to establish social control mechanisms to regulate doctors' unjust collective actions should also be conducted simultaneously."

Regarding the formation of the consultative body, he said, "The voices of the general public, who are the key stakeholders in health and medical policy, must be most strongly reflected.
