Europe's Largest Home Appliance Exhibition IFA Opens, 1,450 Companies Participate
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Europe’s largest home appliance exhibition, 'IFA 2020 Special Edition,' opens on the 3rd (local time) in Berlin, Germany. IFA is considered one of the world's top three IT exhibitions along with the US CES and Spain's MWC.
This year, the scale has been reduced due to concerns over the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The organizers limited daily admission to 1,000 people and shortened the event period from 6 days to 3 days.
Christian G?ke, CEO of Messe Berlin, the organizer of IFA, explained, "This IFA is a hybrid event," adding, "The biggest goal is to work hard for industrial recovery."
According to the organizers, a total of about 1,450 companies from 30 countries applied to participate both online and offline this year. Among them, 150 companies can be seen on-site, while the remaining companies will be available in the online space called 'Xtended Space.'
