Seodaemun-gu Conducts Thorough Safety Inspections in Preparation for Typhoon Maysak No. 9
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (District Mayor Moon Seok-jin) has issued a Level 1 response posture as of 6 p.m. on the 2nd, entering emergency duty, anticipating that Typhoon Maysak No. 9 will have the greatest impact on the Seoul area around 6 a.m. on the 3rd.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, Mayor Moon Seok-jin held a countermeasure meeting at the district office planning situation room to check the status of departmental measures in preparation for strong winds and heavy rain.
Previously, the district secured outdoor signs, outdoor electronic billboards, large advertisements, and designated banner posts through typhoon safety inspections and measures, and inspected pump facilities in underground passages, underpasses, and the road beneath Sacheon Bridge.
Additionally, waterproof sheets were placed over areas at risk of soil runoff at construction sites, and protective screens, supports, and tower cranes were inspected. Fallen leaves and trash along the streets were cleaned to prevent rainwater drains from clogging.
Furthermore, until the response posture is lifted, maintenance teams for sewage, roads, forests, and street trees were kept on standby, and work at excavation sites was halted.
