Gyeongbuk Province Designates Gunwi and Uiseong Integrated New Airport Site as 'Land Transaction Permission Zone'
From the 8th, Only Actual Users Can Buy and Sell After Military Approval for 5 Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 2nd that it will designate 63.5㎢ of the planned site for the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport and its surrounding areas (26.7㎢ in 4 villages of Gunwi-gun, 36.8㎢ in 7 villages of Uiseong-gun) as a land transaction permission zone for five years starting from the 8th, and will announce this in the Gyeongbuk Provincial Gazette dated the 3rd.
In Gunwi-gun, the four villages include Daehung-ri and Naeui, Bongso, Bonghwang-ri in Sobo-myeon. In Uiseong-gun, the seven villages are Sinpyeong, Anpyeong, Hwajeon, Saburi in Bongyang-myeon, and Doam, Ssang-gye, Hwashin-ri in Bian-myeon. Gyeongsangbuk-do explained that the designation of the land transaction permission zone is based on the judgment that there is a high risk of speculative demand arising due to large-scale development projects such as the new airport relocation.
From now on, anyone who intends to acquire land above a certain scale in the designated area must obtain permission from the county governor of the land location in advance by specifying the purpose of land use. If a land transaction contract is concluded without permission, the offender will be subject to imprisonment for up to two years or a fine of up to 30% of the land price.
Furthermore, those who receive permission are obligated to use the land according to the approved purpose, such as self-residence or self-management, for a certain period. If violated, a performance penalty of up to 10% of the acquisition price per year will be imposed.

Baek Yong-su, Director of the Construction and Urban Bureau of Gyeongsangbuk-do, said, "As the final site for the integrated new airport relocation has been confirmed, the possibility of overheating in real estate in the area is increasing," and added, "We plan to continuously monitor land prices and transaction trends in the airport cluster and hinterland areas and take additional necessary measures."
