Gochang-gun Implements Local Tax Support in the 3rd Special Disaster Area Declaration
[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang County announced on the 2nd that it will provide local tax-related support to affected residents and businesses following the inclusion of Asan-myeon, Gong-eum-myeon, and Seongsong-myeon in the '3rd Special Disaster Area.'
The support includes deadline extensions, collection deferrals, delinquency disposition deferrals, tax audit deferrals, and acquisition tax reductions for replacement acquisitions.
Taxpayers identified as victims in Asan-myeon, Gong-eum-myeon, and Seongsong-myeon due to the recent heavy rain can apply for an extension of up to two years for the payment deadlines of acquisition tax, resident tax (employee), and other reported and payable tax items.
Local taxes already imposed can also be deferred for collection for up to two years. Delinquents may request a postponement of the sale of seized property within a maximum period of two years.
When buildings, automobiles, machinery, and equipment are destroyed or damaged and replacement acquisitions are made, acquisition tax and registration license tax will be reduced (up to the standard market value of the existing items). If automobiles cannot be recovered or used due to flooding, automobile tax may be exempted.
