Daejeon Reports 2 Additional COVID-19 Cases...Infections Linked to Church Congregants and Contacts
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Daejeon. The total number of confirmed cases in the region is 278.
According to Daejeon City on the 2nd, a person in their 50s residing in Songchon-dong, Daedeok-gu (Daejeon case 277) and a person in their 50s residing in Sintanjin-dong, Daedeok-gu (Daejeon case 278) were each confirmed positive for COVID-19. Both are believed to have been infected after contact with previously confirmed cases.
Case 277 was classified as a close contact of case 271, who was confirmed the previous day and is a member of the Full Gospel Daejeon Woori Church, and was tested and confirmed positive. Case 277 showed symptoms such as headache and runny nose at the time of testing.
Case 278 was a contact of Cheongju case 53 and was confirmed positive after undergoing a COVID-19 test while in self-quarantine.
