Ministry of Health and Welfare Withdraws Charges Against Four Residents and Fellows
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 1st that it will take legal action against 4 of the 10 residents and fellows who were previously reported for failing to comply with the work commencement order on the 28th.
This legal action was based on the 'List of Absentees' and 'Confirmation of Non-compliance with Work Commencement Order' submitted by the respective hospitals. During the on-site investigation conducted from the 26th to the 27th, hospital officials confirmed that the residents and fellows in question did not return to the clinical site.
The Ministry explained, "Following the legal action, additional materials such as electronic medical records (EMR), which were not submitted during the on-site investigation, were provided by Samsung Seoul, Chung-Ang University, Sanggye Paik, and Hallym University Sacred Heart hospitals. After verifying these, the legal action against 4 individuals who were confirmed to have been dispatched to local areas and worked on the day of the investigation has been withdrawn."
