Four Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Including Seongrim Baptist Church and Table Tennis Club in Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Four additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gwangju, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the region to 378.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 1st, during the previous day, four people tested positive for COVID-19 and were classified as cases 375 to 378: two related to Seongnim Baptist Church in Buk-gu, one related to Donggwangju Table Tennis Club, and one under investigation for the infection route.
Case 375, a woman in her 40s residing in Munheung-dong, Buk-gu, and case 378, a woman in her 50s residing in Maegok-dong, Buk-gu, are both related to Seongnim Baptist Church. Both developed symptoms while under self-quarantine and tested positive for COVID-19.
Case 376 is a woman in her 60s living in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, whose infection route has not yet been identified.
Case 377, a man in his 60s residing in Ochi-dong, Buk-gu, was confirmed to have had contact with case 344, who is related to Donggwangju Table Tennis Club.
Of the 378 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Gwangju so far, 324 are local infections and 54 are imported cases.
Since the first confirmed case in Gwangju in February, 39 local infections occurred until June, but the number surged with 140 cases in July and 145 cases in August.
