Jaguar Land Rover New Cars Equipped with T-map
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] SK Telecom's T map service will be installed as a standard feature in all new Jaguar Land Rover vehicles launched in Korea.
On the 1st, SK Telecom announced that it has developed a dedicated T map service optimized for Jaguar Land Rover's system and car connectivity environment. The dedicated T map service for Jaguar Land Rover will be installed in all new vehicles sold in Korea, starting with the all-new Defender vehicle released on the same day.
The service includes SKT Car Connectivity optimized for in-vehicle connectivity and infotainment environments, T map-based advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) high-precision maps applied to various in-vehicle systems, and functions exclusive to Jaguar Land Rover electric vehicles.
SK Telecom's car connectivity is the first in Korea to separate telematics and infotainment lines, providing faster speeds and higher stability compared to existing integrated line services, as well as enabling personalization through usage analysis of infotainment services, the company added.
In addition to existing features such as T map real-time traffic information, the latest search data, and fast and accurate navigation services, it also provides dedicated charging station information for electric vehicles, optimal route guidance based on the current battery status, and electric vehicle-specific customized functions that automatically add charging stations as waypoints along the route.
The two companies plan to continue cooperating on ways to provide ultra-high-definition large-capacity media services in real time within vehicle environments equipped with SK Telecom's 5G network in the future.
