Park Jong-bok, SC First Bank President, Recommended as Sole Candidate for Third Term...
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Park Jong-bok, CEO of SC First Bank, has been reappointed for a third term.
SC First Bank announced on the 31st that the Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee unanimously recommended CEO Park as the sole candidate for the new CEO. Park's remaining term was until January next year.
Park, who became the bank's CEO in September 2015, was reappointed in January 2018 and will now serve as the head for an additional three years.
The recommendation committee stated the reasons for recommending CEO Park: "During his tenure, he turned the chronic deficit in retail banking into a surplus, and despite challenging domestic and international conditions such as the COVID-19 pandemic, he increased net profit by 21% in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. He also achieved non-financial results such as improving organizational culture, enhancing the bank's brand and reputation through outstanding leadership, strengthened communication, and sound risk management."
