Eight COVID-19 Cases Clustered at a Nursing Home in Goyang City (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] A cluster infection of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) occurred at a nursing home in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
According to Goyang-si on the 30th, a total of 8 residents at Ilsandong-gu Seongseok-dong Ilisam Nursing Home were confirmed positive on the same day.
Among them, 5 are in their 80s, and the remaining 3 are in their 90s, 60s, and 70s, respectively.
Goyang-si identified that they were infected through contact with confirmed case A, a nursing caregiver from Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. A is reported to be a confirmed case related to Geun Gwon Neung Church in Yeongdeungpo-gu, where 17 people have been infected in a cluster as of that day.
Earlier, after receiving the confirmation of A's positive status, the city visited the nursing home on the 29th and tested a total of 50 people, including 20 staff members and 30 residents. Among them, 8 residents tested positive on that day.

In response to the cluster infection, the city plans to cohort quarantine the entire nursing home from that day until September 13.
