Lee Nak-yeon, Democratic Party Leader, "Preparing for Party-Government-Blue House Meeting, Discussing Disaster Relief Funds"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Lee Nak-yeon, the newly appointed leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, will soon discuss the second round of disaster relief funds and other matters through a meeting between the party, government, and 청 (Cheongwadae, the Blue House).
On the 30th, during a video conference with the new leadership, Lee said, "A party-government-Cheongwadae meeting is being prepared to be held around the beginning of this week," adding, "We will mainly review and discuss support for people's livelihoods and the COVID-19 situation."
He continued, "It seems that the issue of disaster relief funds will also be discussed at the (party-government-Cheongwadae) meeting."
The Democratic Party's National Crisis Overcoming Committee will be expanded. Lee stated, "The party's National Crisis Overcoming Committee has been reorganized, but it is currently functioning like a temporary organization," adding, "The floor leader is temporarily in charge, but we have decided to strengthen and expand it. I mentioned in my acceptance speech that I will take direct responsibility as the leader. When I go to the National Assembly tomorrow, I will take measures to start preparations for the expansion and reorganization."
