20s Man Sentenced for Threatening to Distribute Sexual Videos to Ex-Girlfriend Who Wanted to Break Up
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] A man in his 20s who threatened to distribute sexual videos to his girlfriend who wanted to break up was sentenced to prison.
The Criminal Division 11 of Cheongju District Court (Presiding Judge Jo Hyung-woo) announced on the 30th that A (22), who was indicted on charges of intimidation, was sentenced to 4 months in prison and taken into custody in court.
Judge Jo stated the reason for sentencing, saying, "It is inevitable to impose a prison sentence as the defendant repeatedly committed the crime against the victim who refused to continue the relationship," but also considered "the defendant's intellectual disability."
According to the investigation, A was prosecuted for sending a KakaoTalk message to B, his girlfriend who notified him of the breakup last December, saying, "I will distribute the sexual video."
Also, A threatened B by saying, "If you don't get back together with me, I will write a will and die."
Previously, in July last year, A was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a 2-year probation for threatening B in a similar manner.
According to this, it is understood that A committed the same crime again during the probation period. Therefore, if this ruling is finalized, A will serve a total of 14 months in prison, including the previously sentenced 10 months.
