Suncheon City COVID-19 Cumulative Cases Reach 61... Suncheon Police Also Provide Response Support
Three confirmed cases on the 28th, all children under 10 years old from the same family
Suncheon Police Station also supports with 12 investigators
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeonnam announced on the morning of the 29th during a COVID-19 response briefing that three additional confirmed cases occurred after 4 p.m. the previous day, bringing the total cumulative number of COVID-19 cases to 61.
So far, Suncheon City has conducted 20,017 tests. Among these, 61 tested positive, 19,162 tested negative, and 794 tests are still in progress. A total of 1,185 people have been placed under quarantine.
The three additional confirmed cases (Suncheon 59, 60, 61) reported on the 28th are all children under 10 years old and are family members of confirmed patients.
The city confirmed that patient number 60, A (8 years old), a student at Shindae Elementary School, attended school for one day on the 24th. Therefore, a temporary screening clinic has been set up at Shindae Elementary School, and tests are being conducted on 260 students who attended school on the same day.
Additionally, the remote online classes for kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, which have been in place since the 25th, will be extended until September 11.
Meanwhile, the Suncheon Police Station is supporting Suncheon City's COVID-19 response efforts by dispatching 12 investigators.
The 12 investigators assigned to Suncheon are experts in CCTV collection and analysis. They analyze CCTV footage to track the movements of confirmed patients, classify contacts, and protect the safety of investigators in case of unexpected situations during epidemiological investigations.
