Mercedes-Benz Korea Hosts 'Selection Day' for Startup Autobahn Participant Companies

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 28th that it will hold a Selection Day event on the 31st to select the final participating companies for Daimler Group's startup nurturing platform, 'Startup Autobahn.'
The Selection Day event, held at Seoul Startup Hub located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, will be attended by Mercedes-Benz R&D Korea Center, Daimler headquarters in Germany, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Seoul Startup Hub under the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and expert judges from SparkLabs. A total of 20 startups that passed the document and first-round screening will present innovative projects that can collaborate with the Daimler Group and partner companies.
More than 100 domestic companies applied for this Startup Autobahn program in various fields such as AI, autonomous driving, vehicle electrification technology, electric vehicle infrastructure, security, infotainment, and enterprise solutions. Among them, 20 startups that passed the evaluation by Daimler and startup experts were selected to participate in the Selection Day.
The startups participating in the Selection Day will conduct individual presentations in separate spaces. The judges will select promising startups through evaluations based on business feasibility, future growth potential, and scalability. The selected startups will experience a nurturing support program consisting of expert mentoring from Daimler and domestic and international partner companies, education, and venture capital networks for about 100 days. Through Seoul Startup Hub, a co-operating institution under the Seoul Metropolitan Government, each startup will also receive a project budget of 10 million KRW and workspace support.

The startups finally selected will conduct tests to apply innovative ideas and solutions to Daimler products during the project period and collaborate with Daimler Group experts to prove the feasibility of technology implementation and business viability, considering future production.
