2 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Within the Military

View original image[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Two individuals, an Army soldier in Goseong, Gangwon Province, and a civilian employee belonging to a national unit in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 28th, the additional confirmed soldier, Mr. A, recently returned from leave between the 10th and 23rd of this month and was in quarantine within the unit. On the 26th, after learning that his mother had tested positive, he underwent testing and was confirmed positive. Similarly, civilian employee Mr. B from the Yangju national unit was confirmed positive after his father tested positive the previous day and he was tested.
The military authorities are conducting tests on approximately 130 people, including about 70 from the Goseong Army unit and about 60 from the Yangju national unit. In the case of the Goseong unit, all tested individuals have been confirmed negative.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Defense also reported that two more military personnel have recovered from COVID-19 on the same day. As of 10 a.m. on the 28th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases is 99, with 16 currently undergoing treatment.
