[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] On the 27th, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) held a remote meeting at its Seoul office with heads of patent offices from 16 major countries including the United States, China, Europe, Japan, and India, as well as Francis Gurry, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and Daren Tang, the incoming WIPO Director General. The meeting was organized to share trends in international patent applications amid the COVID-19 situation and to discuss matters related to the upcoming 61st WIPO General Assembly scheduled for next month.
