19 Confirmed Cases at Meat Processing Plant in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul... Infection Route Under Investigation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] On the 26th, 19 factory workers at the meat processing company 'BB Farm' located in Doksan 1-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, were simultaneously confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to Geumcheon-gu and Guro-gu, the first confirmed case at this factory, a resident of Guro-gu (Guro case number 123), was identified as one of the infected individuals from an apartment cluster outbreak in Guro-gu.
The quarantine authorities stated that this confirmed case testified to having eaten together with about 20 colleagues at the company cafeteria on the first floor of the factory building last week, classifying them as close contacts and conducting specimen diagnostic tests.
They also guided about 100 workers from other tenants located on different floors of the same building as BB Farm to undergo testing.
