Yeonggwang-gun Conducts Safety Management Inspection in Preparation for Typhoon 'Bavi'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Kim Junsung) announced on the 26th that it inspected construction sites and river embankments in preparation for the northward approach of Typhoon No. 8 ‘Bavi’.
This inspection was conducted targeting areas that have already suffered damage due to the prolonged rainy season and heavy rainfall, as well as areas undergoing emergency restoration, where secondary damage from the typhoon is a concern, since the approaching Typhoon ‘Bavi’ is expected to bring strong rain with the power of a medium-sized typhoon accompanied by strong winds.
The county strictly prepared for typhoon-vulnerable construction types such as tower cranes and slope works, and for public construction projects such as architecture and civil engineering, it ordered the suspension of work on construction types affected by strong winds and heavy rain unless the work was urgently related to safety.
In particular, they focused on inspecting vulnerable areas such as landslide and collapse-prone sites including Bulgab Yubongjae and Beopseong Port fishing boats, Jeonnam Seawall, rural central construction sites, river embankments, areas at risk of river embankment washout, and drainage pump facilities, and pre-secured and deployed emergency restoration firefighting materials and equipment.
