Boseong-gun Announces Call for Participating Groups in Cultural New Deal Project 'Our Neighborhood Art'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it will recruit participating organizations for the public art project "Our Neighborhood Art" until the 2nd of next month.
The "Our Neighborhood Art" project is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Jeollanam-do, and organized by Boseong-gun, aimed as a cultural New Deal project to overcome COVID-19.
The project will be carried out in two locations within Beolgyo-eup, where participating groups will exhibit installation works that harmonize with the surrounding landscape based on local resources and stories, or engage in artistic activities contributing to art exhibition spaces or urban regeneration.
Boseong-gun plans to select a total of two teams, and the selected organizations will receive support for artist fees and production costs to carry out the project from September to February next year. The total project budget is 400 million KRW (approximately 200 million KRW per site).
Organizations wishing to participate must possess a unique identification number certificate or business registration certificate, and artists from Boseong-gun are given preference. Interested organizations can download the application form from the Boseong-gun official website, fill it out, and submit it via email.

A county official said, "This project will provide an opportunity for artists who have suffered serious damage to their creative activities and livelihoods due to COVID-19 to attempt new artistic works," adding, "Through communication between artists and residents, residents will become closer to public art, and Boseong will be developed as a place where art and dignity live and breathe."
