KB Kookmin Card signed a "Business Agreement to Support Social Enterprises and Vulnerable Groups" at its headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and delivered a sponsorship fund of 200 million KRW.
This sponsorship represents an evolution from simple support for vulnerable groups to supporting social enterprises. It aims to create greater social value through collaborative social contribution activities that help stabilize employment and economic independence for vulnerable groups and support those in need of social attention and care with products produced by these enterprises.
The sponsorship funds delivered on this day will be used to purchase quarantine supplies such as masks and disinfectants, as well as school supplies and nutritional foods, from 15 social enterprises employing socially vulnerable groups including people with disabilities, whose sales have declined due to the impact of COVID-19, selected by the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency.
The purchased items will be packaged as gift boxes and delivered to about 5,000 children and adolescents belonging to 200 regional children's centers nationwide that are blind spots for care, through the social welfare corporation "Children and Future Foundation."
