Malaysia Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties on Steel from Korea, China, and Vietnam

[Asia Economy Kuala Lumpur Hong Seong-ah, Guest Reporter] The Malaysian government has temporarily imposed anti-dumping duties on imported steel products from Korea, China, and Vietnam.
According to Free Malaysia Today on the 25th, the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) initiated measures on the 14th to impose provisional anti-dumping duties on imported aluminum and zinc-coated steel sheets from Korea, China, and Vietnam.
The tariff will be effective for 120 days. The anti-dumping duty rates vary by company, ranging from 2.17% to 37.14%. The final decision will be made on December 11.
Earlier, Malaysian steelmaker NS Bluescope filed an anti-dumping investigation request with authorities, claiming that the prices of imported steel products from the three countries, including Korea, were set lower than the domestic market prices.
