[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa]Yujin Corporation announced on the 25th that it will reactivate its emergency management system and strengthen quarantine measures in response to the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Following the government's recent decision to raise social distancing to Level 2 in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas due to the resurgence of COVID-19, Yujin Corporation has reintroduced telecommuting and staggered working hours to ensure the safety and health of its employees and has begun preparing countermeasures.
Yujin Corporation communicated work guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through internal notices so that employees can focus on their tasks in a safe environment.
First, more than 20% of each department's personnel will work from home. The number of telecommuting employees is determined at the discretion of the department head, with priority given to pregnant employees and those who need to care for children.
Since the 20th, the company has reintroduced staggered commuting hours. Working hours have been adjusted to avoid peak congestion times on public transportation such as subways and buses, minimizing contact with many people.
All employees entering the headquarters and business sites, as well as all visitors, are required to have their temperatures checked. Daily status reports from all departments are used to identify any suspected cases or individuals who have visited or contacted high-risk areas.
Group training, events, and company dinners are prohibited. In particular, face-to-face meetings involving six or more participants are replaced with video conferences. Additionally, wearing masks indoors is mandatory, employees are required to maintain a distance of at least 2 meters from each other, and hand sanitizers are placed throughout the office to focus on hygiene and cleanliness.
Yujin Corporation plans to consider stronger measures if the spread of COVID-19 continues or if the government raises social distancing to Level 3.
A Yujin Corporation official stated, "We have judged the recent spread as a second crisis even greater than earlier this year and have proactively strengthened quarantine measures to protect employees' health and safety. We are closely monitoring the possibility of a Level 3 escalation and will review work changes to enhance safety management."
