Gwangju Buk-gu Implements Specialized Health Promotion Services for Pregnant Women
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 25th that it is providing various specialized services to promote the health of pregnant women.
Buk-gu has alleviated the inconvenience of having to visit the health center in person by implementing a ‘Pregnancy One-Stop Service’ that mails nutritional supplements such as iron and folic acid to pregnant women.
To support breastfeeding for mothers and newborns, the district operates the ‘Mom Convenient Pigeon Delivery Service,’ which lends breast pumps free of charge for one month.
To strengthen communication with pregnant women, Buk-gu opened a dedicated online channel on KakaoTalk Plus Friend called ‘Peaceful Mother and Child Nation,’ providing various maternal and child health project information such as medical expenses, childcare products, and health management support.
In particular, for infertile couples whose government support has ended, the district is making efforts to reduce economic burdens by additionally supporting up to 1.5 million KRW per procedure, up to four procedures annually.
