Sehwa IMC Obtains US FDA Approval for Three Types of Masks
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Sehwa IMC has completed approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for three types of masks, accelerating the signing of supply contracts.
Sehwa IMC, which is actively expanding its new mask business, announced on the 25th that it has obtained FDA approval for three types of masks: KF94, KF80, and droplet masks. The company explained that this approval will speed up the conclusion of mask supply contracts currently under discussion.
A company representative said, “As concerns about new coronavirus (COVID-19) cluster infections are rising again, mask-wearing mandates are being expanded to various regions, and consideration is being given to raising social distancing to level 3. We expect mask consumption to continue increasing not only domestically but also overseas.”

The representative added, “We are making every effort to prepare the quantities for the supply contracts in progress. Currently, Sehwa IMC and Woosung Corporation are collaborating to supply approximately 10 billion masks annually, and we also plan to expand mask production lines to increase future supply quantities.” Furthermore, they said, “We will complete European CE certification and domestic Ministry of Food and Drug Safety registration by October.”
