Seojeonghyeop, Acting Mayor of Seoul, Requests Joint COVID-19 Response from Seoul Medical Association President
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Two days before the doctor strike (June 26-28) announced by the Korean Medical Association (President Choi Daejip), Seo Jeongcheop, Acting Mayor of Seoul, met with Park Hongjun, President of the Seoul Medical Association, to request joint response efforts against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to Seoul City on the 24th, Acting Mayor Seo met with President Park in the afternoon to express concerns about the medical vacuum caused by the sequential strike of residents working in general hospitals and the expected inconvenience to citizens due to the collective closure of clinics.
At the meeting, Acting Mayor Seo emphasized, "Now is the time for the entire society to unite and overcome this difficult moment together," and requested the Seoul Medical Association to gather their intentions as much as possible.

In response, President Park reportedly said, "Amid various difficulties caused by COVID-19, we will do our best to prevent confusion in the healthcare field through an organic cooperative system with Seoul City, as we have done so far," according to Seoul City.
