First Confirmed Case from Korea Departure
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] China has reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19 imported from South Korea.
According to diplomatic sources on the 24th, a Chinese national who boarded the Jeju Air flight from Incheon to Weihai on the 18th tested positive.
Although one passenger who arrived in Yanji from Daegu on the 21st was confirmed to be asymptomatically infected, this is the first confirmed positive case.
In China, aside from imported cases from overseas, the COVID-19 situation has shown a clear calming trend with no mainland cases for eight consecutive days.
The National Health Commission of China announced on the same day that 16 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported on the 23rd, all of which were imported cases.

Among the imported cases, Shanghai had the highest number with 5 cases, followed by Fujian Province, Sichuan Province, and Yunnan Province with 3 cases each. The Chinese government reported 27 asymptomatic infections on the 23rd, which are not included in the official confirmed case statistics.
